I loved the card. Message inside was perfect (just like I requested) Only comment - the picture seemed too large for the card (glue showing on the side) Next time I will down size the picture. I have ordered many cards from fineartamerica and have been very pleased with the artist selection and quality of the art. Paul Cutright

Artist's Description

Foreboding - Solberg Homestead in infrared under stormy skies
This is a view that homesteader Ole Solberg would have enjoyed at each day's end, back in early 1900’s, over 100 years ago now. Whenever I happen to be driving through the area, I can't resist pointing my lenses at this beautiful and stately old homestead on the Benson County (North Dakota) prairie, homestead of Ole Solberg. The varying seasons and lighting angles yield new image opportunities, without fail. I could fill a coffee table book with images just from this site! The house's days are numbered though, as the concrete foundation on north side has cracked and is rapidly collapsing inward into the basement, leaving a large span unsupported. Search "solberg" to see many others from this site.
Image captured 5/23/22 with 720nm infrared-modified Pentax K3.

About Peter Herman

Peter Herman

Peter Herman was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota. He first became interested in photography during high-school, and after acquiring a Pentax SLR, began taking photos for the school yearbook and developing/printing B&W images in school darkroom. He continued shooting through college, taking portraits, group pictures, weddings, but after beginning his engineering career at Cummins, he let his photography interests go dormant until about 2005 when he acquired his first DSLR and started shooting scenic landscapes from around the US, but concentrating especially on rural areas in ND and WI. Many of his images were encountered while riding motorcycle down random backroads during "golden hour", searching for that magic light...
